Sheriff

Responsibilities

The Sheriff serves principally as an officer of the court. The main duties involve delivering and carrying out orders of county courts. Sheriffs:

• Serve various writs, processes, and other judicial documents
• Provide courthouse security and prisoner transport
• Assists in impaneling juries
• Executes sheriff’s sales
