Responsibilities
The Sheriff serves principally as an officer of the court. The main duties involve delivering and carrying out orders of county courts. Sheriffs:
- Serve various writs, processes, and other judicial documents
- Provide courthouse security and prisoner transport
- Assists in impaneling juries
- Executes sheriff’s sales
